Wonderful People In Town

To the Editor:

    I awoke the morning of January 18th after our first snowfall in a while and prepared for a business trip that would take me out of town for a few days only to discover that someone had slid on the icy road and demolished our mailbox.  Hurrying to get ready to leave town, I told my wife "hopefully someone will call to take responsibility."

    Needing some guidance to have the mailbox repaired, my wife called our builder, Michelle Tanner, just to ask a few questions.  Having no official obligations to assist my wife, Michelle, nevertheless, as usual, dropped everything and sacrificed her entire morning in helping my wife reset a repaired mailbox in fresh concrete.

    Subsequently, our school bus driver called later that afternoon to apologize and tell us she had accidently hit the mailbox that morning.  The cost and inconvenience of the mailbox are irrelevant compared to having two such wonderful people being part of my town.
